Snorkel some great spots only accessible by boat, grab a bite at Pizza Pi, explore Christmas Cove, then settle in for a slow cruise and your front-row seat to the Caribbean sunset.

This USVI shared excursion explores the vibrant waters surrounding St. John and nearby cays, including an extended stop near Pizza Pi in Christmas Cove.

Hop aboard VOODOO for a super fun shared charter that gives you everything you could ask for in one day – snorkeling, swimming, sightseeing, pizza and a Caribbean sunset!

First enjoy several snorkel stops like Lovango and Little St. James to kick off the afternoon, then head to Christmas Cove to refuel with tasty grub from Pizza Pi.

We will plan on an early pizza dinner about 5pm and, after refueling, you can kick back and enjoy the golden hour — one of the best shows on the islands.

You’ll have a later start at 1pm*

Have a relaxing island morning and grab a late breakfast or early lunch before setting off on a fun filled water adventure. A light snack will be provided in the afternoon to keep you energized for several snorkel stops.

Departing from Cruz Bay, St. John at 1:00 pm and returning at 7:00 pm*

Pizza Pi — USVI’s unique floating pizzeria

Located in Christmas Cove, and accessible only by boat, Pizza Pi offers a unique “slice” of heaven with a tiny pizzeria filling the interior of a sailboat — yup, pizza ovens, refrigerators, freezers, a pizza prep station — and a great crew cranking out hot and tasty New York style pizzas. They use fresh ingredients, local when possible, and offer both classic options like cheese and pepperoni as well as creative specialties.

This fun stop is perfect for the whole group — friends, family, and fellow travelers — to relax and enjoy a slice amid an incredible snorkeling area.

Nat’l Park Dock in Cruz Bay

M/V VOODOO pulls up to the National Park Dock at 1:00 PM.

  • Where to meet: Meet us at the National Park Dock across from Mongoose Junction in Cruz Bay, St. John. VOODOO will pull up when it is her turn at about 1:00 pm. We suggest you get there by 12:45 pm and wait near the children’s play area.
  • Onboarding: Our friendly crew will greet you and gather all shoes in a basket and help you easily board and get settled in for our adventure.  You can store your belongings in a safe dry spot in the salon  – please note you will not need much to enjoy a day on the water.
  • 🩴 What to bring:
    Come dressed ready to enjoy a day in/on the water in swimwear.  A rash guard/sun shirt may be helpful, as well as non-aerosol sunscreen to protect you from the VI sun which can be stronger than you think.  If you would like a towel to dry off after taking a dip, please bring that with you as well.
  • Make yourself at home: Once you’re on board, make yourself comfortable in the shaded salon if you’re looking for a cool spot out of the sun. Or, head up to the mid-deck to relax with sweeping panoramic views. If you’re feeling adventurous, climb up another level to join the captain and take in the stunning sights as we set off to cruise along St. John’s beautiful North Shore.
  • Safety briefing: Once all guests are on board, the Captain will pull the boat off the dock and give a quick safety briefing and explain the ins and outs of the boat so all can safely enjoy their day on the water.

The captain and crew are delighted to answer any questions about the areas we’re passing, sharing local stories and interesting facts about the island they proudly call home.

Kicking off our afternoon by exploring marine life between St. John and St. Thomas

The Captain will scout out our snorkel stops as you do your thing.

  • The crew will open the bar to offer you a refreshing drink of your choice.  Please note cold filtered water is available from a tap on the bar, feel free to help yourself to water at any time, staying hydrated is always a great idea.
  • Head out front or all the way upstairs to get comfy on a padded bench or the sunbed as you take in the gorgeous views.
  • Take a minute to chat with the other guests on board, many a new vacation friendship has been forged on our boat.
  • While we travel, the Captain and crew will help to point out some favorite spots which can look totally different from the water.  Be sure to be on the lookout for some of the St. John ruins that are visible from the water as well.

The pool is open!

Several snorkeling stops and sightseeing the likes of Lovango, Hawksnest, Little St. James and more

  • Time to dive in! The crew will drop the water stairs, hand out snorkel gear and hang the water swings — the “pool is officially open”
  • Or don’t dive in! You do you: You can always choose to simply stay on the boat, relax on the nets or bean bags, and take in the beauty and serenity that surrounds you. It’s extra comfy.
  • Snorkeling and swimming to your heart’s content: We will give ample time for everyone to get in the water and cool off or take in the beauty of the underwater world. You’ll be outfitted with our top-of-the-line snorkeling gear.
  • If snorkeling is not your thing…
  • Feel free to grab a pool noodle and float in the water.
  • Sit on one of the 2 water swings and get the coveted Instagram shot to share with everyone back home.
  • The crew will set out our “boutique”:  Maybe you forgot your rash guard or just want to remember your day with a cool souvenir.  Get yourself some Voodoo gear, put immediate use to it, and take a little bit of vacation back home with you.

Eats and Exploration all in one

Pizza and Float, Then More Snorkel and Swim

  • Christmas Cove: After two early snorkel stops, the Captain will bring us to Christmas Cove near Great St. James Island. This beautiful snorkeling spot is a marine sanctuary around an uninhabited island is home to our dinner destination, Pizza Pi!
  • Pizza delivery… Time to dig in! We will have gathered the Pizza Pi orders for your group in the days before your trip by text or email. You can choose your favorite pizza, stromboli and/or salad options. After anchoring, Pizza Pi’s dinghy will deliver fresh, hot pizzas for everyone. Enjoy!
  • Playtime and relax: You will have ample time before or after eating to swim over to Pizza Pi and lounge on one of their floats, or order a specialty cocktail to enhance the experience.
  • Snorkeling at Christmas Cove: If you are ready to explore the undersea world again, Christmas Cove offers excellent snorkeling with colorful fish, coral, and perhaps even rays, dolphins or turtles.

    🤿 Ask the crew to point out the sunken boat nearby for a unique snorkeling adventure.

Golden Hour of the USVI

Now just simply enjoy the sunset…

  • As sunset approaches: The Captain will meander around the area giving you a chance to catch what hopefully will be a breathtaking sunset. 
  • This will certainly be the perfect ending to a wonderful day on the water. 
  • Open bar continues: The bar is open the full trip so be sure to ask any time you’re ready for another refreshing cocktail, cold beer, wine, soda, or juice.
  • Remember to stay hydrated: There’s a spout with cold, filtered water at the bar — help yourself to a glass anytime.

Sights on Cruz Bay

  • As our day with you draws to a close: As we’re nearing Cruz Bay, the crew will confer with the head of each group and close out your tab for the day.  Please review your charges with them as they will have added any merchandise and Pizza Pi purchases to your booking.
  • Always grateful for the crew: We feel our crew are the best and we hope you will agree — now is a great time to add a gratuity to your credit card or tip in cash if you prefer.
  • Check Your Belongings: As we round the last corner and pull back in to Cruz Bay, we will have everyone look around and make sure they have all of their belongings.
  • Arrive at the National Park Dock: We will pull up to the National Park Dock around 7:00 pm and crew will again help you step across to the dock.
  • Collect Your Shoes: Collect your Shoes: You’ll need these again, we suppose. The crew will have all shoes laid out on the dock for you to slip into and continue your evening. You’ll be right in the heart of St. John’s charming downtown, so enjoy!
