The best way to Lime Out VI is to take a charter and make it a day on the water — and on a spaciously comfy catamaran, of course.
With Voodoo Charters, every trip to Lime Out is a plush and roomy ride with snorkeling and fun on the water; so getting you and your group there in comfort is a given. The way we get you there is all you’ve got to choose!
You’ve got all the options to get to Lime Out when you charter with us, so here are the main things you’ll want to nail down:
St. John? Or St. Thomas?
There are two Lime Outs now, and we offer ways to get to both. The best one for you depends on where you’re staying and how much of a day on the water you’d like.
Private charter? Or shared with other groups?
A private charter is our favorite way to get to Lime Out, giving you the day built to your plans. Shared charters are great ways too for a more social, pre-planned trip.
Are you a large group? Or just a few?
How you’ll get to Lime Out as a large group can get tricky. With a smaller group you have so many options the trick is to decide what’s important! Voodoo Charters is well set up to offer both with two catamarans that cover everything from a few friends to a full event of up to 60 guests.

It’s a must-do in the USVI

What’s the deal with Lime Out?
It’s the funky charm of a little green boat with friendly folks serving up tasty tacos and delectable drinks, all amongst the stunning backdrop of the US Virgin Islands.
Accessible only by boat, Lime Out is a lively floating taco bar nestled in the calm waters of two USVI locations — Coral Bay on St. John and Lindbergh Bay on St. Thomas. It has become a very popular lunch stop favorite for locals and tourists having a day on the water.
The tacos are made fresh often with locally sourced ingredients, and you’ll love their specialty cocktails, fresh juices and the super refreshing hibiscus sun tea, not to mention, of course, the grand ol’ time we’ll be having.

Lime Out St. John in Coral Bay: Shared or Private charters

The original Lime Out, and the way to go if it works for you timing-wise! A floating taco boat moored in the calm waters of Coral Bay, on the southeastern side of St. John.
- The natural choice if you’re staying on St. John, with departure from our homebase of Cruz Bay, or a beach pickup at the Westin St. John.
- A full day usually circumnavigates the whole island of St. John, with a wonderfully scenic cruise and three or four snorkel stops on the North shore, East end, or South shore.
- Our shared Lime Out excursion boards in Cruz Bay and visits this Coral Bay location.

Lime Out St. Thomas in Lindbergh Bay: Private charters

The newer location, right in Lindbergh Bay near Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas (and just west of the cruise ship ports), is the way to do Lime Out when you’re in St. Thomas and timing or preference keeps you nearer to this island. The full floating taco and craft cocktail experience as the original.
- Best for St. Thomas resort guests, cruise visitors, and groups that want to stay closer to St. Thomas.
- Works well for a full-day St. Thomas private charter when you’re up for snorkeling at Christmas Cove and Water Island.
- The shared Lime Out excursion does not visit Lindbergh Bay; shared guests board in Cruz Bay and visit the Coral Harbor location.

Large Groups to Lime Out VI

Voodoo Charters is the way to go to Lime Out for large groups. High-end charters for big groups are hard to come by in the Virgin Islands, since most boats cap at 12 guests. It’s even harder once you’re at 30 guests…
So we’re happy you’ve found us! We’ve built our business on serving up epic days for large groups in style and comfort.
Our VOODOO catamaran:
- Is excellent for weddings, reunions, birthdays, company outings, large families, multi-family groups, and celebrations.
- Hosts up to 49 guests; VOODOO and VORADO together can host up to 60.
- Is built for larger groups, with two levels, shade, open deck space, wide water stairs, dual trampolines, and ocean swings.

- You could do VOODOO, even with a small group, for all the room, comfort, and awesomeness of our flagship catamaran.
- For a truly exceptional way to get about your adventure on the water with a group of family and friends of up to 12 guests, choose a private trip on VORADO for a classy and intimate setting.

FAQs about trips to Lime Out
Can we visit both Lime Out and Soggy Dollar Bar in the BVI on the same trip?
We often hear from guests who want to do it all, but Lime Out and Soggy Dollar Bar do not fit well into the same trip.
Soggy Dollar Bar is on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, so visiting requires BVI customs clearance. When we return to the USVI, we are required to go directly to the US Customs office near Cruz Bay. Lime Out is in Coral Bay, on the opposite side of St. John, so there is not enough time to clear customs and then travel back around the island for Lime Out.
For guests who want a food stop after a BVI trip, Pizza Pi in Christmas Cove is a better substitute. It is much closer to the US Customs return route and works more naturally with the required check-in process.
How many people are on the Laid Back Lime Out Shared Excursion?
The Laid Back Lime Out Shared Excursion runs aboard VOODOO, our 57-foot power catamaran. While VOODOO is licensed for up to 49 guests, we generally run with about 20 to 25 guests, except during especially busy holiday and peak travel periods. That gives the trip a roomy social feel without making the boat feel crowded.
What is the Laid Back Lime Out itinerary?
The Laid Back Lime Out Shared Excursion is a full-day shared trip around St. John, with snorkeling, a Lime Out lunch stop, time to swim or relax, and plenty of time onboard VOODOO along the way.
For the full trip schedule, details, and booking information, visit our Laid Back Lime Out Shared Excursion page.

How do I order tacos from Lime Out during the trip?
We order tacos for guests from the boat as we approach Lime Out, so they are fresh and hot when we arrive. Guests eat onboard VOODOO, then have time to mingle over to Lime Out’s floats or bar, swim, or simply relax onboard.
Tacos are not included in the price of the trip. They will be added to the final bill.
Can we snorkel near St. John before lunch at Lime Out? And St. Thomas?
Yes, we snorkel around St. John during the Laid Back Lime Out Shared Excursion. As we circumnavigate the island, we typically visit North Shore snorkel spots before lunch and South Shore snorkel spots after lunch.
St. Thomas, please note! We do not head to St. Thomas on the shared Laid Back Lime Out trip. St. Thomas is in the opposite direction and simply doesn’t fit naturally into this route.
